This is a video of a bat flying in a smoke tunnel [ Brown Univ].

I can't see much, if any, body heave. The feet [ and hence also the tail and wing TE] appear to be moving down during each downstroke.

Here's another wind tunnel video of a bat in flight [ also from Brown Univ].........very good !
The bat appears to move his feet apart on the downstroke and bring them together at the top of the upstroke.
